Developing an Objective for a Successful Company Level Drill

Company-level drills are the bread and butter of firefighter knowledge development and skill improvement. It is within these drills where firefighters are afforded opportunities to learn from knowledgeable officers and instructors and are allowed an environment to make mistakes in efforts to get better at the practice of firefighting.

The purpose of this article is to give the firefighter or fire officer conducting a company-level drill on drill night, whether in the career or volunteer service, a few tools to help craft a memorable drill that improves their firefighters’ knowledge and abilities.
